About Fitness Yoga Asana
Most people who start yoga at home get stuck on small things. Where do the hands go in cobra. Why does the lower back pinch in camel. How long should a mudra be held. Fitness Yoga Asana answers those small questions one page at a time.
What you will find here
- Asanas: one page per pose, with the Sanskrit and English names, numbered steps, beginner changes and common mistakes.
- Surya namaskar: the twelve positions, the mantras, benefits and a calorie estimator.
- Pranayama: breathing practices with a built-in breath pacer that runs in your browser.
- Mudras: exact finger positions, how long to hold them and what tradition says about them.
- Yoga for health goals: gentle routines for back pain, sleep, stress, periods and more, always with advice to check with a doctor.
Who writes it
Our pages are put together by a small editorial team that practises daily and has taught beginners in community classes. We follow the methods of classical hatha yoga and the protocols most Indian teachers use. Read how we write and our editorial policy for the details.
What we are not
We are not a clinic, a studio or a seller of yoga products. We do not give personal medical advice. If you have a health condition, please talk to your doctor before starting a new practice.
